Interior Designer Testing New Colors
  • Have a list of what you’re going to handle and what you’ll contract out.

  • Make drawings where needed.

  • Find contractors in your area that fit your budget.

  • Get any city permits you need lined up.

  • Have professionals inspect the foundation, siding, roof, windows, plumbing, and electrical systems to make sure you don’t need any repairs there.

  • Begin Demolition ~ Get a dumpster if necessary

  • Frame out new structures. Add support beams where needed, enlarge or add/remove windows and doorways, and do anything else related to the structure.

  • Add electrical, plumbing and ductwork while walls are open

  • Insulate the walls, hang drywall

  • Install doors, windows, molding & trim.

  • Paint Walls, Ceiling & Doors

  • Install flooring & baseboards. This is often done last so your new carpet, tile, hardwood, laminate, and other surfaces aren’t damaged while installing other parts of the remodel.

  • Install Cabinets, Sinks, Faucets, Toilets

  • Install appliances

  • Final Touches, Furniture, Accessories
